The “Irazú Volcano / Orosi Valley / Lankester Garden” tour combines the exploration of Irazú Volcano, Orosi Valley, and the Lankester Botanical Gardens.
Departing along the South Pan-American Highway, we ascend toward the majestic volcano, passing through fertile lands cultivated with a variety of vegetables.
At the summit, we enjoy panoramic views of the main craters and, on clear days, both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.
We then descend toward Cartago, where we visit the Basilica of Our Lady of the Angels, an important historical pilgrimage site.
Next, we continue to the beautiful Orosi Valley, surrounded by mountains and rich in colonial history marked by pirate attacks, earthquakes, and floods.
Here, we visit a colonial church before enjoying a delicious traditional lunch at the area’s finest restaurant.
Finally, we conclude our day with a visit to the Lankester Botanical Gardens, home to an impressive collection of orchids and other plant species.
